Alan Fink

Biographical Information of
Alan Fink

Mr. Fink attended McQuaid Jesuit HS (62-66) in Rochester NY, and Buffalo State College (66-70). He got his first job teaching school in Hawaii (70-71). He entered Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola in August of 1971 and was designated Naval Aviator in February 1973. He was stationed (again) in Hawaii, flying Navy transports (C-118) around the Pacific and served on CINCPAC flight crew 76-77. He left active duty in March 1977 and joined the Reserves, retiring in September 2000 after 30 years as Navy Captain. He had two very successful and enjoyable Naval Intelligence joint command tours.

As a civilian, Mr. Fink worked mostly for steel service centers (sales and distribution to machine shops, tool and die, OEMs) from 1977 to 2013. Since retiring, he and his wife like to spend time in their 5th wheel travel trailer around the Pacific Northwest, and simply enjoy quality time with the kids and grandkids. He is married to his first and only wife, April (42 years), with two grown children (one each, boy and girl) and two grandchildren (again, one each, boy and girl).

He currently volunteers at Madigan Mall Information desk. Mr. Fink lists some of the factors involved in his joining Madigan Foundation: "A desire to give back to the military members and families in a small way; the military has been very good to me and my family, a most enriching part of my life."
